Music can provide a fun and upbeat environment for many people. Franklin-based instrumental artist, Shane Bloom, illustrates that music can be more than just fun. Bloom’s unique instrumental music comforts people to heal and find a new way to deepen their faith.
Bloom’s debut album, “Release,” and single, “This is for YOU,” establish his creative relationship with God. In sharing his musical journey, Bloom hopes that others can relate and find God’s embrace in his music.
In an interview with Koinesúnē, he explained why he decided to pursue a music career.
“I was always drawn to the creativity, the sound, the music and everything like that. So, it’s something that I know; it’s a calling– a gift that was just put inside of me because I’m just drawn to it,” said Bloom.

Inspiration and Process of Making “Release”
Bloom’s gift for music became obvious when he revealed his inspirations for his album, “Release.” As he began talking, Bloom mentioned that one of the main influences came from a dance therapy class.
“In that class, a lot of people that didn’t know about God or even some that didn’t even care to have any association with God found Him,” Bloom said.
He described his experience with the dance classes as a form of release.
“It was through that, that their release came from so many things that they’ve been through and been exposed to,” Bloom said.
Bloom’s album not only composes his experiences from the dance ministry but also explains how God inspired him to create his work.
“I just felt God tell me to make this album,” Bloom said.
Along with his artistic inspirations, Bloom detailed on how becoming a Christian enhanced his music-making process.
“Before I had actually fully surrendered myself to Christ. I was in awe of so much in the entertainment industry,” Bloom said.
Bloom continued to speak of the entertainment industry, describing his work as a producer for many artists. Yet over time, he felt that he needed to leave the industry and pursue a place with God.
“I wanted to create music that brought people to Christ. So, I wanted to create frequencies and everything that was filled with peace and not make music that was empty,” said Bloom.
This led to Bloom’s newfound faith to become a part of his production. The frequencies put into his songs created waves called alpha and delta to help bring calmness and peace to the listener, according to Bloom.

Descriptions of Bloom’s Instrumental Sound in “Release” and “This is for YOU”
Within both the debut album and single, Bloom described his productions as cinematic and experimental pieces. “That kind of fuses and has this unique sound in it,” Bloom said.
Bloom specifically detailed his connections to two of the songs of “Release”: “Welcome to the Throne Room” and “Release.”
Bloom described “Welcome to the Throne Room” as a powerful experience.
“If I remember, I think I knew the sound before the name,” Bloom said. “It was an experience because I literally feel like I was transported to the throne [of God].”
“Welcome to the Throne Room” creates a different light that takes the listener on a journey to God’s throne room.
However, Bloom felt that special connection with his last song on the album, “Release.”
“It was the first one that I had created,” Bloom said. He then explained that the song “Release” includes the sound of birds chirping, which he felt belonged in the piece due to the sound’s peaceful nature.
“It's connected to the heaven and to the earth that God created, and so, it’s this connection that I feel like when you listen you get really connected,” Bloom said.
Like the album, his single “This is for YOU” creates a calming and comforting sound that reels the listener in from their anxieties. “It’s a love song,” Bloom said. “That’s how I would summarize it. It’s a love song from Christ to you.”
