1. RESHAPING THE CHURCH: “Ministries fight for the right to serve” by Steve West

This article from WORLD titled “Ministries fight for the right to serve” highlights the friction against Christians and churches seeking to serve their communities. Though Christians are called to help the homeless in passages like Isaiah 58:7, believers often come up against community opposition, who voice concerns of safety and the effect on property values. “These are single moms, these are teachers, these are ex-firefighters,” Pastor Polhemus of Church of the Rock said of the homeless people they serve. “These are people that are just like us, they’re the same as us. And all we’re doing is we’re helping our own community get back on their feet.”

    2. EDITORIAL: “Ranting at God the right way” by Robin Schumacher

This article from The Christian Post titled “Ranting at God the right way” addresses the common reaction of ranting when Christians feel upset or frustrated. Robin Schumacher does not condemn the act of ranting to God; instead, he encourages that honest communication reveals faith and dependence on God. He writes, “Understand that God put those psalms in His book for a reason — to show us that crying out to Him is not sinful, but rather an expression of faith. Notice that the psalms of lament have the author running not away from God, but to Him for help.”

    3. RESHAPING THE CHURCH: “Teen skateboarder signs Bible verse after medal win at Paris Olympics” by Lydia Davies

This article from Premier Christian News titled “Teen skateboarder signs Bible verse after medal win at Paris Olympics” highlights recent events at the Paris Olympics, particularly the moment when 16-year-old Brazilian skateboarder Rayssa Leal signed John 14:6 after winning the bronze medal in the women's street skateboarding final. "When I was very young, I dreamed of becoming a skateboard athlete," Leal told reporters. "And here I am, with a second Olympic medal from the games. Once again, thank God I won a medal. I'm very happy to be here."
