This article from The Christian Post titled “What does it mean to care for widows and orphans,” raises the call to care for society’s most vulnerable, a mission that shines strongly throughout Scripture. Croft urges readers not only to provide material resources to our orphans and widows but also to provide spiritual and emotional care by offering a listening ear and a sense of belonging. He said, “Widows and orphans matter to God and thus should matter to us. They are central to the heart of God and, likewise, should be to ours.”

This article from The Gospel Coalition titled “How Hellion Teenagers Sparked Revival in a Small West Virginia Town” shares the unique testimony of a group of friends in the midst of partying culture. From evangelizing to drug dealers to hosting events called, “Christ Night,” the group of friends found themselves sparking revival in the young adults of their community. “The Lord did a great work,” Kell, one of the so-called “hellion teenagers” and now a pastor at Del Ray Baptist Church, said, “and I pray he’ll do it again.”

This article from Mission Network News titled “Inmates face struggles to apply faith in prison” sheds light upon the difficult nature of applying Scripture to the lifestyles of inmates in prison. Koh wrote, “Applying Scripture is how we practically live out our faith and the teachings of Jesus Christ. For an inmate, however, the questions of application are unique to their situation.” The Bible study program at Crossroads Prison Ministries is attempting to address this issue and prepare inmates for living out Scripture, especially when they are released back to their communities.
