In this FIU News article, titled “Faith moves mountains: Meet Panther defensive back CJ Christian,” a football player credits his success to God. “I know God’s got a plan for me,” CJ Christian said, “I’m just going to keep working hard.” With hope and trust in God, he pushes through and works hard for his team.

2. EDITORIAL: “Things Christians need to know, for our own sake, about Yom Kippur, Judaism’s Day of Atonement” by Ken Sehested

This Baptist News Global article, titled “Things Christians need to know, for our own sake, about Yom Kippur, Judaism's Day of Atonement,” highlights this day of repentance as restorative. “God is not a sadist,” Sehested reminds the reader, “And the call to confession and repentance is not a form of masochism.” This Jewish celebration can teach Christians a lot about the beautiful and cleansing nature of repentance. 

3. BIG QUESTIONS: “Why do I still go to church? It’s a good question.” by Amy Julia Becker

In this Religion News article, titled “Why do I still go to church? It's a good question," Amy Julia Becker shares the reasons why she continues to attend church. Becker recognizes the effective methods of community service, sermon podcasts and religious celebration in the home while also remembering Jesus’ words in Matthew 18:20, “where two or three of us are gathered.” In her church community, she feels she is both “taught about Jesus and given an opportunity to live as he lived.”
