This article from Christianity Today titled “After Taiwan’s Powerful Earthquake, Christian Aid Groups Work to Rebuild Lives” highlights the work of Christian aid groups as they help bring relief to Taiwan after last Wednesday’s 7.4 magnitude earthquake. The earthquake was the most severe to hit Taiwan in 25 years, consequently damaging many buildings and homes. Though Christians make up less than 5 percent of the population, aid groups such as World Vision Taiwan, Mustard Seed Mission and 1919 Food Bank are working side by side to bring relief to victims and become a beacon of Christ’s light. Samuel Chang, director of the 1919 Food Bank, said, “We hope that through the gospel and caring for their welfare, they can encounter God even in the midst of this disaster.”

This article from The Christian Post titled “‘A Move of God’: Thousands of Students Attending Revival Events, Hundreds Baptized” shares about the revival occurring in universities across the U.S. In recent months, Unite US has been organizing large gatherings at multiple universities. In February, they baptized 300 people at Florida State University and this past month, they baptized another 260 individuals at University of Alabama. Tonya Prewett, founder of Unite US, shared that the organization’s support moves beyond baptism: “Our organization will follow up with each student and will provide a list of every church and campus ministry in the area. For students who requested to be connected with a local church or ministry, we will send their name to that ministry.”

This article from Religion News Service titled “New York Catholic Workers Bring New Growth with Rooftop Garden” shares how the Catholic Worker in New York, a social justice-oriented newspaper better known for its acts of hospitality, began planting a rooftop garden. Before, the Catholic Worker relied upon a farm in Marlboro for sourcing vegetables for the meals they served in soup kitchens. However, ever since the farm’s owner, Tom Cornell, passed away in 2022, the Catholic Worker put it upon themselves to foster a vegetable garden, housing lettuce, tomato, spinach and other plants that will provide nutrients to countless individuals in New York.
